Sheep and Fate

You may be thinking, "She titled her blog post incorrectly...doesn't she mean Tour de France????" Of course, Tour de France is coming up, and there is much excitement in the air already for the famous race that will be happening for the 103rd time this year! But from a spinner's point of view, it's the coinciding spinning event, the Tour de Fleece, that has me the most excited!

Last year, I participated in my first Tour de Fleece, and it was SO much fun! Spinners from all over the world spin...some try to spin everyday of the race (this year's dates are July 2nd-24th)...some set a goal for themselves (spin a certain amount of fiber, tackle a new-to-them technique, etc.)...but the idea, according to the main Tour de Fleece group, is to Challenge Yourself. Spin. Have fun. And believe me...I fully intend to do all of that!

If you are interested in Tour de Fleece, why not join us over at Blaine Fleece and Fiber on Ravelry? Along with my amazing co-captain, who goes by the Rav handle tinydancerknits (waves madly at TDK - HI!!!), we are hosting Team BFF 2016! Our group is VERY laid back...if you don't spin everyday, that's cool...you don't even have to use BFF fiber if you would rather not (although the sheep and I do appreciate it so much when you do!!)...and there are PRIZES! Yes, prizes, folks...who can resist prizes?? Not me! And simply for posting at the end of the Tour in both the main TdF group and the BFF group, showing us what you accomplished during the Tour, you'll win a prize package! That's right - prizes for everyone!

So get those spindles and bobbins cleared...give your wheels some TLC and get them cleaned up and ready to roll...and join Team BFF 2016! Mikey says, "Doooooo it...BAAAA!!!"
