Elinor is a purebred Clun Forest sheep - their wool is considered to be a medium wool of the Down type, much like Freckles (Dorset cross)! This roving will produce a sturdy yarn that will make long-lasting garments that you'll enjoy for many years!

Please remember that you are buying farm-fresh roving! My fleeces are processed by an amazing small-batch mill that spends a great deal of time skirting and picking the fleeces - however, it is impossible for them to remove all of the VM (vegetable matter). The roving is amazingly soft and clean, and the VM comes out easily. Thank you for understanding that what you are seeing is evidence of the good food our sheep enjoy!
